Seeking an experienced Medical Scribe for a cardiology practice. The medical scribe/assistant will work under the direction of the medical staff and director/cardiologist. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in an urgent care setting.

Responsibilities

• Transcribing medical data from paper charts
• Entering all medical information relevant to the office visit, including patient history, symptoms, and complaints
• Providing feedback about any data entry errors
• Reviewing records ensuring accurate spelling, grammar, and completeness before they are sent to the doctor for review and signing

Skills & Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

• 1-2 years scribe experience
• Experience in an urgent care setting preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field preferred but not required
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training program an asset but not required
• Familiarity with current electronic medical record systems (eClinicalworks)
• Experience with medical terminology
• Excellent computer skills
• Type 60+ words per minute
• Excellent communication and bedside manner
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail
